The restaurant aims to change the African food narrative by serving unique dishes using organic ingredients that have been responsibly sourced from the African continent, in an elegant and sophisticated manner.

Welcome to Nyurah, Vatel Rwanda’s culinary center of excellence.

The name Nyurah is inspired by the Kinyarwanda word “Kunyurwa”, meaning “to be delighted” or “to be fully satisfied.” This is the spirit behind our table: to create thoughtful dining experiences that leave guests with a lasting sense of discovery and satisfaction.

Led by our resident cheffe, Odette Nyiranubaha, Nyurah offers a continuously evolving menu rooted in African gastronomy. Our dishes celebrate Rwanda’s finest seasonal ingredients while drawing inspiration from flavors, techniques, and culinary traditions across the continent.

Each dish is prepared with care, creativity, and attention to detail. The same consideration guides our selection of wines, spirits, and beverages, chosen to complement the character of our cuisine.

Le nom Nyurah s’inspire du mot kinyarwanda “Kunyurwa”, qui signifie « être comblé » ou « être pleinement satisfait ». C’est l’esprit qui anime notre table : créer des expériences culinaires soignées, qui laissent aux convives un sentiment durable de découverte et de satisfaction.

Sous la direction de notre cheffe résidente, Odette Nyiranubaha, Nyurah propose un menu en constante évolution, ancré dans la gastronomie africaine. Nos plats célèbrent les meilleurs ingrédients de saison du Rwanda, tout en s’inspirant des saveurs, techniques et traditions culinaires du continent.

One of the unique features of Nyurah is that it will be opening its doors to exemplary students to build practical skills in the restaurant business.

Students will be able to practice their culinary and service skills at the Centre of Excellence, enabling them to put their theory into practice.

Through training new entrants and existing industry personnel in international best practices, Nyurah will be at the forefront of equipping the Rwandan youth to fulfill the nation’s goal of becoming a high-end tourism destination and regional center for Meetings Incentives Conventions & Exhibitions (MICE). To do this, the restaurant invites respected International Chefs from within the Africa Region and the world over to share their experience, flavor, and influences with the students and Nyurah’s Customers.
